Ich arbeite seit vielen Jahren mit Smart Objekten. Unten zeige ich euch zwei Illustrationen die ich mit AFFINITY Designer gezeichnet habe. Das Coole an AFFINITY Designer ist, dass ich im selben Programm von der Pixel-Persona in die Vektor-Persona wechseln kann.

I’ve been using Smart Objects for many years. Below you’ll find two of my new Illustrations created with AFFINITY Designer. The benefit of AFFINITY Designer: I can switch from the Pixel-Persona to the Vector-Persona in the same program. Tutorials: AFFINITY

Work smart with Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator

TIP OF THE WEEK: 
“How I use Smart Objects and Smart Filters in Adobe Photoshop”

In 3 simple steps!
1. Open your Adobe Illustrator document with a simple Icon, Illustration or Logo.
2. Copy your Object and place it as Smart Object into your Photoshop file.
3. Click OK to confirm the placement. In the Layers you’ll find the Smart Object as a small icon. By clicking on the small icon, the original file opens again in Illustrator which means: both files are linked with each other.

Or I simply select in Photoshop under Filter > the command CONVERT FOR SMART FILTERS before adding any Filter effects. With this method I can modify the filters as desired and work non-destructive.

In 3 einfachen Schritten!
1. Öffne dein Adobe Illustrator Dokument mit einem einfachen Icon, Illustration oder Logo.
2. Kopiere dein Object and platziere es als Smart Objekt in deine Photoshop Datei.
3. Klicke auf OK um es zu bestätigen. In deinen Ebenen findest du nun dein Logo als Smart-Objekt. Wenn du auf dieses Smart-Objekt-Icon klickst, öffnet sich dein Original wieder in Illustrator, d.h. die beiden Dateien sind miteinander verknüpft.

Oder: Ich gehe direkt in Photoshop unter Filter und wähle den Befehl > KONVERTIEREN ZU SMART FILTER – bevor ich Filtereffekte anwende. Damit kann ich jegliche Filter jederzeit verändern und arbeite nicht-destruktiv.

THE MOCK UP WORLD

How cool is that! Many years I spent time in Photoshop putting my designed CD Covers, websites, books etc. together for presentations to show it to clients… even though I’m teaching Photoshop since years it took me hours to make it look professional.

By accident I’ve found this link online:
MOCK UP WORLD

Since I’m working with MOCK UP world templates, it takes only minutes to present a new product to a client!

I’ve downloaded a few mock-ups for free to try out. At the moment, they offer a “freebie-package” since they would like to find new subscribers.
FREE MOCK UPS

1. I open their Mock-up file in Adobe Photoshop
2. I click on the Smart-Object on the layer “Replace me”
3. A new file opens, where I can place my own design
4. I hit the safe button once I’m happy; right after that, my own design gets applied into the Mock-up PSD document.
Now you are free to send an jpg per e-mail to a client, or place a Tiff into Indesign for printing.

Eine super Sache! Viele Jahre habe ich verbracht in Photoshop meine Bücher, CD Covers, Webseiten und Broschüren mühsam für Präsentationen “zusammen-zu-stiefeln”… und trotz allen Photoshop Kenntnissen, sah das Resultat doch nicht so professionell aus…

Per Zufall habe ich dann online diesen Link entdeckt:
MOCK UP WORLD

Seit ich Mockup World gefunden habe, ist es eine schnelle Sache für mich ein neues Produkt meinen Kunden vorzustellen!

Um es mal auszuprobieren habe ich mir ein paar gratis Mock-ups heruntergeladen. Im Moment gibt es sogar ein Freebie-packet da sie neue Subscribers finden wollen.
GRATIS MOCK UPS

1. ich öffne die Mock-up Datei in Adobe Photoshop
2. ich klicke auf das Smart-Objekt auf der Ebene “Replace me”
3. eine neue Datei öffnet sich, worin ich mein eigenes Design einfügen kann
4. wenn ich zufrieden bin, speichere ich; denn damit wird mein eigenes Design ins Mock-up PSD übernommen.
Dann steht es mir frei entweder ein jpg per e-mail an meinen Kunden zu schicken, oder ein Tiff ins Indesign einzufügen und auszudrucken.

Photoshop Tipp > SMART FILTERS: When I’m using Filters in Adobe Photoshop as shown on my Illustration below, I first go under MENU > FILTER > Convert for Smart Filters. With this method, I can apply every filter and work non-destructive. I open my layers and click on my Smart-Filter-icon which opens the previous chosen filter settings so I can make my adjustments.

Photoshop Tip > SMART FILTER: Wenn ich in Adobe Photoshop Filter benutze – siehe unten – dann gehe ich unter MENU > FILTER > Konvertieren für Smart Filter. Mit dieser Methode arbeite ich nicht-Destruktiv , und kann somit jeden Filter löschen oder nach Wunsch verändern. Dazu öffne ich mein Ebenen-Bedienfeld und klicke auf meinen Smart-Filter-Icon, damit sich der vorher gewählte Filter wieder öffnet und ich Änderungen vornehmen kann.

Photoshop Tip: I love to mix Photoshop and Illustrator, as shown on my Illustration below. I copy my Illustrator drawing and place it as a SMART OBJECT into my Photoshop file. With this method, I can work non-destructive and make as many changes as I wish. It shows an interesting mixture between pixels and sharp vector outlines!

Photoshop Tipp: Ich mische gerne Photoshop and Illustrator, wie man unten bei meiner Illustration sieht. Ich kopiere meine Illustrator Zeichnung und platziere es als SMART OBJEKT in meine Photoshop Datei. Mit dieser Methode, kann ich nicht-destruktive arbeiten und so viele Änderungen machen wie ich will. Zudem zeigt es eine interessante Mischung zwischen Pixel und harten Vektor Linien.

Tip 1: How to show the Photoshop channels in color!
Normally the channels in Photoshop are being shown in greyscale. In certain cases I prefer to see them in colors to make alterations. Click on the link for more info.

Tip 2: The difference between S-RGB and RGB in Adobe Photoshop
I will use sRGB for my own illustrations – you may see one below – if I’m certain that my artwork will only be for digital display. Please click on the link for more info.

Tipp 1: Wie man die Kanäle in Photoshop in Farbe anzeigt
Normalerweise werden die Kanäle in Schwarz/Weiss angezeigt. Ich ziehe es manchmal vor diese farbig zu bearbeiten. Für mehr Info bitte auf den Link klicken.

Tipp 2: Der Unterschied zwischen S-RGB und RGB in Adobe Photoshop

TIP OF THE WEEK: Placing Illustrator Images as Smart Objects into Photoshop CC or CS6.

In two simple steps!
1. Open your Illustrator document with a simple Icon, Illustration or Logo.
2. Copy your Object and place it as Smart Object into Photoshop.

3. Click OK to confirm the placement. In the Layers you’ll find the Smart Oject as a small icon. By clicking on the small icon, the original file opens again in Illustrator.

If you make a change there and hit Save, the changes will be automatically transferred into your Photoshop Document because both programs are now connected.

In nur zwei einfachen Schritten!

2. Kopieren Sie Ihr Objekt und fügen es als Smart Objekt in Ihre Photoshop Datei ein.

3. Klicken Sie auf OK um die Platzierung zu bestätigen. In Ihren Ebenen finden Sie nun Ihr Smart Objekt als kleines Icon. Wenn Sie auf dieses Icon klicken, öffnet sich das Original Dokument wieder in Illustrator.

Sollten Sie in dieser neu geöffneten Illustrator Datei wieder eine Änderung machen und auf Speichern klicken, werden die Änderungen automatisch in Ihre Photoshop Datei übernommen. Das heisst: Beide Programme sind jetzt mit diesem Smart-Objekt verbunden!
